  • Several members went to Ronald McDonald House and prepared dinner and donated children’s books to the Ronald McDonald library.

  • Members have collected bags, tooth brushes and tooth paste that will be delivered to Duffels of Dignity and given to foster kiddos.

  • The club held a Fall Paint N Sip at the clubhouse which was sold out!

  • At the June general meeting, members were honored to present Rylie Howard with the GFWC Florida Youth Leadership award and scholarship. Congratulations Rylie!

  • Several members and a husband volunteered at Feeding Tampa Bay. They helped sort 88,000 pounds of food to feed 72,000 families.

  • A group of Juniors went to St. Pete Airport to welcome back a group of Honor Flight participants. Thank you for your service!

  • Several members gathered at Trinity Cafe to feed the homeless.

  • Two scholarships were awarded at the May General meeting. Congratulations girls!

  • Members of GFWC Brandon Junior Woman's Club made a delivery of backpacks filled with journals, pencils and bookmarks that were then filled with 7 books selected by the teacher. These backpacks of books will be taken home by Mrs. Cooper’s class at Dover Elementary for their summer reading. Pizza and cookies were an added celebration for the students. Funds for this project were from the GFWC Florida Juniors One Voice for Children grant we won last year.

  • GFWC Brandon Junior Woman's Club participated in the #RedSandProject to raise awareness for human trafficking. Red sand was spread through the cracks in the sidewalks symbolizing those who have "fallen through the cracks" into the world of human trafficking. According to the Red Sand Project, more than 40.3 million people are victims of human trafficking, 25% of them are children.

    The National Human Trafficking hotline 1-888-373-7888 can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in more than 200 languages. All calls are confidential and answered live by highly trained Anti-Trafficking Hotline Advocates.

  • To compliment our new wheelchair ramp, 2 of our Booster husbands made this beautiful butterfly garden. And it is thriving!

  • Several members gathered at Feed Tampa Bay and sorted and boxed 8,900 lbs food which equates to 7,941 meals.

  • several members of the Health and Wellness Committee did an Easter craft with the residents of Tessera Assisted Living facility in Brandon.

  • Prom dresses were donated to Brandon Community High School cloths closet for girls to select for the upcoming prom.

  • delivered 28 stuffed bears to the Sheriff department to take along in their squad cars for kiddos who need comfort.

  • Donated puppies to a local firehouse to give children in distress during one of their call-outs.

  • Delivered dinner to a local firehouse.

  • A group of Juniors made blankets for Project Linus.

Brandon Juniors has been giving gifts at Christmas to kiddos who are recommended to us by elementary school counselors for 40+ years! It is a project we look forward to each year. Fundraising events throughout the year support this project. So THANK YOU to everyone who participated in those events!

Each kiddo receives books, a bear, shoes, socks, undies, an outfit, jacket and toys from their wish list. The Elves (Brandon Junior members) shop, wrap, assemble and deliver to the child’s school a huge bag filled to the brim!

CHILDRENS HOLIDAY GIFT GIVING 2022

Brandon Juniors participated in the GFWC FL Sparkle challenge and donated supplies to Devereux in Tampa who is coordinating donations for Foster kiddos in South Florida affected by the hurricane.

Brandon Juniors participated in the GFWC FL Sparkle challenge and donated a $100 Publix gift card to a foster family in Brandon. These kiddos have been in care for 4 years and will be adopted by the Foster parent in November. Congratulation!

Brandon Juniors are proud stewards of Robertson Road. Quarterly we are keeping our “adopted” Robertson Road free of trash.

Brandon Juniors fundraising allowed the group to donate $500 to the Brandon High School Band department to help them reach their goal of $12,000. The Band will be purchasing uniforms and instruments so students who cannot afford these items can still participate.

Brandon Juniors were busy in the communtiy September 11th….cooking dinner for people staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Tampa.

Some Junior members toured the PACE Center for Girls in Tampa and donated items for their incentive closet. The girls earn points for displaying certain positive behaviors during the school day. They are then able to purchase items from the closet with their points.

We were busy in September collecting goodies for our HEROS at Brandon Hospital, who have been busy taking care of our community.  Delivered in October 2021.
